The African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County is an annual celebration of African American culture as expressed through art, music, food and community. The festival has become Raleigh’s premiere destination for teaching, sharing, and celebrating the distinctive folk and cultural traditions of African Americans here in North Carolina and from around the world.
As a community partner, NAAIA Raleigh-Durham members have opportunities to volunteer and represent the chapter. Join us at the 2nd Annual IRMII Future of Insurance Summit, hosted by the Institute for Risk Management and Insurance Innovation (IRMII) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The summit brings together industry leaders, researchers, and students to Chapel Hill for a full day of research talks, fireside chats, and networking.
This year, participants will delve deeply into pressing risks, such as:

- Drought
- Energy transition
- Environmental contamination
- Flood
- Healthcare
- Liability
- Litigation finance
- Severe convective storms
- Wildfire
Additionally programming includes:
Research Showcase. Explore emerging innovations and the evolving risk landscape, as well as the tools that are reshaping the insurance and reinsurance industries via presentation and panel discussions.
Networking Event + Poster Session. Connect with other forward-thinking professionals, as well as dozens of outstanding graduate and undergraduate students. Visit the poster session to chat with IRMII researchers and students about their recent discoveries.
Happy Hour Reception. Celebrate a successful day and share insights over drinks and appetizers with industry leaders, world-class researchers, and young talent working in the industry.
